I Peter 3:12
"For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and his ears are open unto their prayers: but the face of the Lord is against them that do evil."
Bro. Terry's thoughts:
There are many benefits that Christians have in the world today. Peter mentions two of them in this verse. First, it is wonderful to know our Lord's ever watchful eye is over His children. I have experienced His eye over me many times in my life. We all can share stories how God has moved us from danger or moved us to blessings.
Secondly, the Lord's ears are open to the righteous prayer. When we are in fellowship with God, (refer to Psalms 66:18), we will have God's undivided attention. Then our prayer will have power with God, and God will work mightily in us.
Then there is a warning to all who would do evil in His sight. God's face is against those people. It is a terrifying thing to fall into the hands of an angry God! Just read about Pharaoh (Exodus 7-12), and don't forget the many times Israel provoked God's anger and the horrible plight of their lives. Sometimes they were judged through two to three generations.
It is always better to walk with God than to walk without Him!
