II Corinthians 6:14
"BE YE NOT UNEQUALLY YOKED TOGETHER WITH UNBELIEVERS: FOR WHAT FELLOWSHIP HATH RIGHTEOUSNESS WITH UNRIGHTEOUSNESS? AND WHAT COMMUNION HATH LIGHT WITH DARKNESS?"
Bro. Terry's Thoughts:
Paul explains there is a major difference between a saved and lost person. As you would not yoke a horse and a bulldog together, neither should Christians yoke themselves to unbelievers. The path of the saved is not, nor should it be, the same path of the lost.
The lack of practicing this Scripture has brought many Christians to the place of losing fellowship with their God. It would be mind boggling to know how many Christians think this Scripture didn't or does not apply to them, yet they find themselves shot down by Satan and his forces.
These Christians who choose to marry, or go into business, or become best friends with the lost, find themselves fighting wars they should not have to fight, or compromising themselves for the sake of peace!
I AM NOT saying we need to isolate ourselves from the lost! This is our labor of love, to go tell them about Jesus, and see them accept Christ as their Saviour.
When looking for a husband or wife, friend, or business partners our search should be for someone who is saved and completely in love with God and serving Him. Although these Christians are not perfect, they have the light of God in them, and are following the leadership of the Holy Spirit.
In reading this, there may be some that smirk and say, you can not find anyone like that anymore. That is not true; you are that kind of Christian… aren't you?
When both people are in step with the Lord, much can be accomplished in marriage, friendship, and in business.
Remember, the path of a Christian leads to pureness, longsuffering, honor, good report, truth, love, faith, joy, meekness, gentleness, and honesty.
