Nahum 1:7
"The Lord is good, a strong hold in the day of trouble; and he knoweth them that trust in him."
Bro. Terry's Thoughts:
Only those who walk with the Lord understand the statement, "The Lord is good." God's Word teaches us that in mankind dwells no goodness and the habitation of good is only occupied by God.
The good that we bask in has to come from above. Starting with the goodness of His salvation, continuing with the goodness of His care, and will end with the goodness of His return. You see, every good gift and every perfect gift is from above!
John tells us, God knows those who belong to Him. Not only are the children of God known of Him but are to follow Him. Those who will follow the Lord will see that His goodness will sustain them in the day of trouble.
It would be wonderful if on the day we received Jesus in our heart, that He also took away all of our trouble, but that is not the case. What He did do is put us in a strong hold, a place of refuge.
God then promises to those who stay close to Him, a way of escape from those troubles. So when the world is dishing out heartache, God is supplying goodness in the time of trouble, and also in the time of prosperity and rest.
